It's finally February! We made it through one of the longest months of the year. Congrats! This week, in light of recent women's marches that went on throughout the world a couple weeks ago, I thought I would talk about how we can better support the community of women in our lives. Whether that be the women in your workplace, an online community of women you've never met, or just your closest confidants and best of friends, we should all have each others' backs! You might not have made it to a women's march near you, but here's how you can support women on a smaller, but still important, scale.

I hope you're all doing well on this dreary January morning. Has this not been the longest month ever? It feels like it will never end, and I don't know about you, but we've been having some not-so-lovely weather! Instead of crisp, frosty mornings, we've been having soggy grey ones.

Because of the less than cheerful weather and this never-ending month after the holiday season, I know many of you, like me, is getting a bit bored or feeling uninspired when it comes to your wardrobe. You've probably even resulted to wearing black everyday, which, while easy, can also be quite unexciting. Not to fear though, I'm challenging you to reinvent the way we all wear black.

My Book Recommendations: Fashion & Otherwise

Today, I thought I'd touch upon some of my favorite books, some based on fashion and others just amazingly well-written stories. I'll go into why I love each book and why I think you should give it a try yourself. Also, one of the personal goals I've set for myself this year (and one I set for myself nearly every year, but don't always succeed in), is to read more books. I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend. I am completely loving this cool fall weather, which in my book means drinking hot tea, stepping on crunchy leaves, and wearing all the cool weather appropriate items!

How are you all doing on this cool Sunday morning? I hope you're enjoying the cooler weather as much as I am! (I honestly couldn't stop smiling the first day it was under 60 degrees haha...I'm such a cold-weather person!)

Today, I just wanted to share with you a fall outfit that I'm loving right now! I was inspired to pick up this pinafore dress from Topshop, by my all-time-inspiration, Megan Ellaby (check her out if you haven't already. She's a dream!). The rest of the outfit fell together from there.

As you may have noticed, this was posted on a Friday rather than my usual Sunday! Shock! Horror! I am just trying out some new posting days to see which you like better. (There will also hopefully be a beauty post up the usual time on Sunday.)

Now that all that housekeeping is out of the way, onto this week's post. As the mornings are getting crisper and the sun is setting just a bit sooner, I've decided to talk you through this transitional outfit and how you can start transitioning into your fall wardrobe as well.

Step Out of Your Closet Comfort Zone

How are you all feeling on this sunny Sunday morning? I hope you're feeling confident and a little experimental, because I've been challenged by Dia & Co. to 'face my fashion fears', and I think you should too! They've challenged me to wear an outfit/clothing item I might not normally have the confidence to wear, so I've decided to show a little more skin, wear some gorgeous colored sunnies, and some oh-so-badass boots.

This outfit featured a couple out-of-my-comfort-zone elements. I thought I might feel a little self-conscious wearing this, but instead I felt quite the opposite! Wearing this gorgeous outfit has surprisingly made me feel more empowered. The boots made me feel badass, the v-neck dress made me feel pretty and feminine, and the sunnies were of so cool.
