Hello lovelies,

It's finally February! We made it through one of the longest months of the year. Congrats! This week, in light of recent women's marches that went on throughout the world a couple weeks ago, I thought I would talk about how we can better support the community of women in our lives.  Whether that be the women in your workplace, an online community of women you've never met, or just your closest confidants and best of friends, we should all have each others' backs!  You might not have made it to a women's march near you, but here's how you can support women on a smaller, but still important, scale.

Congratulate One Another

As humans, sometimes our first instinct when someone is more successful than ourselves would be to feel jealous, and that's ok! It's completely natural to feel this way, but it is more important that you accept your feelings and instead, act differently.  If you see a woman on Instagram goes on an amazing trip you feel a bit jealous about, instead try to step into her shoes and feel her excitement! Congratulate her and compliment her!  We should show, no matter how jealous we might feel, that we are supportive and proud of our fellow women's accomplishments! I promise you'll feel so great after showing your support.

Stick Up for One Another

Another important thing we need to vow to do as women is to stick up for each other.  Whether a co-worker is being harassed, or if you just feel as though the woman in the neighboring cubicle really deserves a pay rise for all the hard work she's been putting in, speak up! We have to have each other's backs and protect one another if we expect to be treated as equal.

Stay Educated

Keeping up-to-date on women's rights related news is another way to show your support.  Even if you struggle to remember to pick up a newspaper or read the news online, you can follow accounts on your social media that keep women's rights conversations going and will keep you relatively informed with articles, photos, and words from leaders of the movement.

Thank you so much for taking a minute to read how you can support your fellow gal pals.  We need to stick together! I'm just trying to spread a little love from woman to woman.  In the very least, tell a woman in your life how important they are and how they inspire you like I did in a previous blog post!  It feels so good and will make them feel great too. Have a great week and check back next week for another post.
