Sweater Weather: Your Knitwear Guide for AW20

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend guys. I’ve spent the week enjoying the beginning of fall and going out to eat at some lovely London hot spots. I’ve been enjoying running in the cooler weather and among the changing leaves. Anyone else secretly excited for this change of season (apart from the unfortunate amount of rain we have had this week)?

For this week’s blog post, I wanted to share some of the Autumn/Winter 2020 knitwear that I’ve been lusting after. Despite the fact that I sometimes find knitwear to be a bit bland and samey, there seems to be an influx of exciting sweaters and jumpers out there this fall. Below are the top trends and my cosy picks that I’m loving on the high street and online at the minute.

Put It In Neutral

How are you guys doing this week? Comment down below with how you’ve been and what you’ve been up to this weekend. You know I’m always nosey, and what to hear about what you’re up to.

This year one of my fashion goals has been to challenge myself to make neutrals exciting again. They’ve been all over the runways and street-style stars recently, and I want to try it out myself. While I’ve become inclined to grab a punchy pink sweater rather than a subtle camel one, I want to make myself a bit more comfortable with the classic tones again. I think it’s important to have that balance of color and neutral in my wardrobe and know how to navigate both seamlessly.

The Power of Plaid

It’s finally feeling like fall, friends! Whoop whoop! Are you taking this cooler weather in your stride, perhaps going on walks in the crunching leaves or breaking out your coziest of sweaters? Maybe you’re even sipping a warm latte, wrapped up in a plaid scarf, which leads me on to the topic of this week’s post!

Of all the fall trends that accompany the changing trees and falling leaves, I have to admit that plaid, tartan, or check my might be favorite. With it comes with a very British association from things like Burberry’s iconic pattern, traditional Scottish kilts, Vivienne Westwood’s designs, and London punk rockers. Plus, I just love the fact that tartan originated in Scotland and each different pattern represented a different clan. It’s such a cool and interesting start to a pattern’s history unlike any other’s.

Dear Georgie: A Note to My Younger Self

As inspired by a blog post written by my all-time-favorite blogger, Megan Ellaby, I wanted to reflect and send a note to my younger self. Hopefully this might help some of the younger people reading my blog dealing with messy issues associated with growing up, like finding yourself, learning to love yourself, and blocking those haterz haha. Your teens and even early twenties are a time of change, turmoil, and a little chaos, so here's my letter to my younger self.

How to Upcycle Your Holiday Dresses

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend and have survived this colder than expected March weather, especially if you were hit by the, so called, Beast from the East!  Luckily, we made it out here with only a couple smaller flurries and a drop in temperature.  Our trees are still blooming, as you can see! Today, I thought it would be a great idea to talk about you can re-style and recycle your New Year's Eve, Christmas, and other party dresses to make them more casual and spring appropriate!  Wearing dresses in a casual way is one of my favorite outfits.

Learn to Love Yourself

This Valentine's Day, I've been thinking about how important it is to love yourself.  Yes, we all have our little flaws, but loving yourself first is an essential part to being a healthy and overall happy individual, in my opinion.  On this day when we're so busy showing everyone else how much we love them, don't forget to show yourself a little love.

Back to Black

I hope you're all doing well on this dreary January morning.  Has this not been the longest month ever?  It feels like it will never end, and I don't know about you, but we've been having some not-so-lovely weather! Instead of crisp, frosty mornings, we've been having soggy grey ones.

Because of the less than cheerful weather and this never-ending month after the holiday season, I know many of you, like me, is getting a bit bored or feeling uninspired when it comes to your wardrobe.  You've probably even resulted to wearing black everyday, which, while easy, can also be quite unexciting.  Not to fear though, I'm challenging you to reinvent the way we all wear black.

(My friend from high school, Miranda Meyers took these amazing shots for me, and they're honestly some of my favorites to date. We had so much fun creating these photos and chatting all afternoon! I've been wanting to work with her for ages now. Head over to her blog and instagram and give her amazing work some love.)
