How to Throw the Perfect British Tea Party

How are all of you doing today? Did you tune in to watch the British Royal Wedding yesterday? It was so gorgeous wasn't it? Meghan's dress was exactly what I predicted, but the veil with the Common Wealth flowers embroidered around the edge was a lovely surprise. Anyway, on account of the Royal Wedding, we hosted our very own tea party, and I thought it would be perfect to do a blog post all about how to throw your very own tea party! Here are the menu must haves, the decor, and the dress code, which when combined will make for the British Tea Party of your dreams!

Rooting for Plant Love

Happy Earth Day friends! Today, inspired by my mom, I'm writing about plants, houseplants in particular. These delicate green organisms have some not-so-obvious benefits you may not have thought of. I, having not been blessed with my mother's green thumb, have killed my fair share of cacti and succulents. But with the help of my friend Marlie, I've been able to keep two plants alive, one of them for about a year! It's been surprisingly quite rewarding and I thought I should share my thoughts on these little green pals.

Dear Georgie: A Note to My Younger Self

As inspired by a blog post written by my all-time-favorite blogger, Megan Ellaby, I wanted to reflect and send a note to my younger self. Good morning and happy Easter to those that celebrate! (I hope you're all eating extra chocolate today!) Inspired by my recent discovery of the show Westworld (I know I'm late, but if you have not seen it and like futuristic shows, seriously get on it!), I decided to dedicate a post to the western-inspired trends that have been gracing the fashion world as of late.

Although Western trends were showing up on runways starting last winter, they were absolutely ruling the AW18 runways all over the world, including fashion houses I really admire like House of Holland, Calvin Klein, and Topshop. Cowboy couture is a fairly easy trend to try out and you probably already have some of these trends in your wardrobe! Here's how you can conquer fashion's new frontier.

Why Comfort is Key

There is a common misconception that fashion has to be uncomfortable, but today I'm here to bust that myth.  Now, more than ever, comfort is becoming key.  Along with the rise of athleisure (activewear made fashion-forward), comfort is driving a lot on and off the runways as of late.  Louis Vuitton just brought out a pair of tennis shoes for goodness sake!...albeit not everyone's cup of tea. Fashion is clearly changing, and for those of you that have steered away from 'fashionable' items because they might be uncomfortable, now is your time to shine!

In wake of this, I thought it would be super helpful to talk about which comfortable, athleisure pieces to incorporate into your style, while still looking put together.  Comfort and trendiness can go hand-in-hand, especially because, chancing are if it's comfortable, you're going to wear it more.
