The Power of Plaid

It’s finally feeling like fall, friends! Whoop whoop! Are you taking this cooler weather in your stride, perhaps going on walks in the crunching leaves or breaking out your coziest of sweaters? Maybe you’re even sipping a warm latte, wrapped up in a plaid scarf, which leads me on to the topic of this week’s post!

Of all the fall trends that accompany the changing trees and falling leaves, I have to admit that plaid, tartan, or check my might be favorite. With it comes with a very British association from things like Burberry’s iconic pattern, traditional Scottish kilts, Vivienne Westwood’s designs, and London punk rockers. Plus, I just love the fact that tartan originated in Scotland and each different pattern represented a different clan. It’s such a cool and interesting start to a pattern’s history unlike any other’s.

Cheeky Little Life Update

I hope you've all had a great week. I've been in San Diego, so I must admit, I've had a pretty smashing week! I'd never been to San Diego before, but I was met with warm weather, lush flowers, and endless things to do, but I'll talk about all those exciting things more in my mini guide to San Diego which I'm currently working up! See what I did there? Now you have some thing to look forward to for next week!

Good morning and happy Easter to those that celebrate! (I hope you're all eating extra chocolate today!) Inspired by my recent discovery of the show Westworld (I know I'm late, but if you have not seen it and like futuristic shows, seriously get on it!), I decided to dedicate a post to the western-inspired trends that have been gracing the fashion world as of late.

Although Western trends were showing up on runways starting last winter, they were absolutely ruling the AW18 runways all over the world, including fashion houses I really admire like House of Holland, Calvin Klein, and Topshop. Cowboy couture is a fairly easy trend to try out and you probably already have some of these trends in your wardrobe! Here's how you can conquer fashion's new frontier.

How are you all doing on this cool Sunday morning? I hope you're enjoying the cooler weather as much as I am! (I honestly couldn't stop smiling the first day it was under 60 degrees haha...I'm such a cold-weather person!)

Today, I just wanted to share with you a fall outfit that I'm loving right now! I was inspired to pick up this pinafore dress from Topshop, by my all-time-inspiration, Megan Ellaby (check her out if you haven't already. She's a dream!). The rest of the outfit fell together from there.

This fall I've been experimenting with different types of accessories and how to style them successfully. Although I'm quite a minimalist when it comes to accessories, I do like to add touches here and there. After researching how all of the most fashionable of fashion bloggers are styling their accessories, I've come up with my tips for successfully embellishing without going overboard!

Making the Most of the Last Summer Days

How are you doing on this fine Sunday? I hope you've had a great week! I am trying to savor my last weekend before the semester begins tomorrow...I have to admit, I'm not entirely looking forward to it. I know it will be a lot better once I'm into the swing of things though, and this is the last semester of my undergraduate degree, so I need to make the most of it!

Anyway, on to the topic of this week's blog post. Let's talk about making the most of the last few moments of summer. Where I am, we'll most likely have at least another month of warm weather. Ireland & England Haul 2017

I've finally gotten around to filming my Ireland & England haulł Hooray! I had such an amazing trip visiting family and seeing all of the amazing sites that Ireland and England had to offer, so the amazing shopping was just the icing on top of the cake! I think I found some perfect pieces with the help of my mom, Mrs. Cindy, my Auntie Mandy, and my lovely cousin, Neave! I hope you're all having a lovely weekend. Hopefully, you're coping in this summer heat a little better than I am! Every-time I walk outside, I feel like I'm going to instantly melt into a puddle. Hopefully, the temperature is cooler than the impossible 100°F.
