Benefits of the Blogging Community
Today I've collaborated with some new fashion blogger friends of mine to talk about how lovely and supportive the blogging community is, for an extra weekly post! Hannah and Sabrina, of Ensemble of Elan, and I recently came together for a photoshoot and just to chat about blogging and the like. Below we've each given our little two-cents on blogging that leads to friendships, networking, and community building.
Hannah Lewter -Ensemble of Elan
"I love being a part of this community and collaborating with other like-minded bloggers who share the same vision of expressing themselves and sharing their passion with the world. Connecting with fellow bloggers, like Georgie, has not only given me an avenue to gain multiple perspectives on all things fashion, but it also reminds me that I have friends who share the same dream, and we’re in this together. One of my favorite quotes on this topic is:
"It takes a village, dear reader, to be a community. It's you, and me and no one in between."- Scott Hanselman
What would blogging be without a community? Nothing. (Or at least nothing worth reading.)"
Sabrina Runge -Ensemble of Elan
"For a long time after we started our blog, I honestly felt like Hannah and I were on our own. Two lone fashion bloggers in the south, trying to make the streets of Little Rock feel like New York City. Most of the bloggers we knew were located in metropolises across the country, so we came to terms with the fact that we would probably never be able to do collaborations with other bloggers and participate in blogger events unless we traveled far away.
But (as per usual), life proved me wrong. We have been continuously expanding our network since we started our blog and we have stumbled upon a burgeoning creative community right in our own backyard. If you check out our blog, you can see that our last several posts have all been collaborations because we cannot get enough of them!
Joining forces to work on a mutual passion project is one of the many joys of blogging. Not only do you get to take advantage of everyone’s individual talents, but you also get to make new friends and create memories that will last a lifetime.
(Also, it’s just lovely to connect with someone else who knows the struggle of spending ten minutes to get the right lighting and composition for a photo of a cup of coffee!)
Little Ole Me
For me, blogging has come with endless benefits. I cannot imagine where I'd be without my blog right now. Blogging has helped me gain jobs, internships, and so many other opportunities, but one of the most important things is the people I've met and the friendships I've made. There really is nothing that can compare to meeting someone who has the same passion and goal as you. For example, when I met these two lovely ladies, I felt as though we could talk for hours and never really run out of things to discuss.
Blogging helps you make connections even when you might be an introverted, shy person, like myself. It gives you the confidence and the conversation starters to get to know people you have so much in common with.
Head over to Ensemble of Elan to read the post we collaborated for on their blog! It's all about pattern mixing and color maximizing, which, as you know, is one of my true fashion loves! As usual, thank you so much for popping in to check on my little corner of the internet! It means so much to me. Follow me on Instagram and Facebook for more outfit posts and daily updates and be sure to follow Ensemble of Elan and support my lovely new blogger pals. Check back in on Sunday for a new post!
