Happy Sunday,

I hope you’re all having the best, coziest Sunday ever. These chilly February days are made for cozying up, eating warm soups, drinking hot chocs, and watching movies under fuzzy blankets, aren’t they? Comment down below what your fav thing is to do in this cold weather. I know the cooler weather and shorter days can get us all feeling a bit stuck in a rut, especially when it comes to our wardrobes, but I’m hoping this post might change that!

For the weekly blog post, I wanted to talk about when it’s time to refresh your wardrobe and a few tips on how to do it! I know it can be hard to realize when your closet is holding you back from the killer outfits you’re capable of, so these are the 5 signs that it’s time to revive your closet.

“Nothing to Wear” syndrome”

We all go through the ‘nothing to wear’ phase while staring at a closet full of clothes now and then, but if you’ve been getting that feeling more and more often it might be a sign that your wardrobe needs an overhaul.

Serial outfit wearing

If you find yourself wearing the same outfits week after week, it might be time to press the refresh button. Of course wearing the same pieces in different ways is totally fine, but wearing the exact same outfit combo over and over will leave you feeling bored and uninspired.

You have things in your wardrobe that don’t Fit In

Remember those sad pieces in your closet that you never wear? It’s time to realize that “I’ll wear it one day” is not the right way to think about your wardrobe. In order for a piece to be worth keeping around, you should be able to think of at least two different ways of wearing it with other items you own and it should make you feel amazing when you throw it on, even if it’s the most simple white tee.

You feel like your wardrobe is unbalanced

An off kilter wardrobe can cause a lot of trouble when it comes to getting ready in the morning. Perhaps you have too many casual weekend outfits but nothing to wear to work or vice versa. Reevaluate your lifestyle. This will help you decide what you’re missing and what you have way too much of.

Your Clothes don’t Excite you anymore

If the clothing in your wardrobe doesn’t make you feel happy, powerful, or inspired, it’s probably time to change things up. Clothes, after all, should make you excited! It’s one of our greatest forms of expression and can reflect you before a word even comes out of your mouth.

How to Move Forward

If you meet the majority of the for-mentioned criteria then I’d suggest that it’s time to reevaluate your closet and maybe even the way you buy clothes too. To get the ball rolling on a wardrobe revamp, I recommend evaluating what you already own and getting rid of the things you NEVER wear. Then compare the leftover pieces to your lifestyle. Do they fit with what clothes you wear the most in your day-to-day life? From that point you can decide which pieces you’re definitely in need of. Adding a few key pieces will help fill in the gaps in your wardrobe and make it feel a lot more inspiring, as it should be.

So is your wardrobe in need of a refresh? Comment down below an outfit you’ve loved wearing this winter. If you can’t think of one, it might be time haha.
