How to be Trendy and Still Keep Your Personal Style

Hello lovely people! I hope you have all had a great week. This week I thought I would let you know some of the most important trends for this spring. As you all know I like to keep it pretty classic with my outfits, but I do like to incorporate trends into my wardrobe, to spice it up. So I will also add a few tips on staying true to your personal style, while still keeping trendy.

The trick to keeping your own personal style alive while still being trendy is to pick and choose your trendy pieces wisely. Take the time to choose trendy pieces that also go with your personal style. Choose pieces that are trendy in style, but in a color you'd normally wear (or vice versa). You will get a lot more wear out of a piece if you go by this rule.

I was a little unsure about the 70s style lace-up tops until I found this off-white cropped sweater with the lace-up on the side. It's perfect because the color and style goes a well with my usual wardrobe. (You can still get this top in a different color!)

I chose these shoes, because I wanted a pair of platform shoes, but I was unsure of what type I wanted. I did some research and found these amazing platform oxfords on sale at Zara.com. I chose nude, because I knew I would be able to pair them with a lot of things I already own. Also for a bit of fun and sparkle, I finished off my outfit with Topshop's signature glitter socks! I'm a huge fan of happy socks, so I'm quite obsessed with these.

So, here are some of this season's biggest trends that you might want to think about incorporating into your wardrobe:

Platform shoes (Like these platform oxfords from Zara. Zara has some amazing sales, so you should go check it out. )
Mules
Lace-up tops & eyelets (Like the cropped sweater I'm wearing above. I got this top online at Topshop and I'm in love with it now!)
Embroidered bombers
Anything off-the-shoulder
Chokers or neck scarves
Sneakers
