Why Comfort is Key

Happy Sunday friends,

There is a common misconception that fashion has to be uncomfortable, but today I'm here to bust that myth.  Now, more than ever, comfort is becoming key.  Along with the rise of athleisure (activewear made fashion-forward), comfort is driving a lot on and off the runways as of late.  Louis Vuitton just brought out a pair of tennis shoes for goodness sake!...albeit not everyone's cup of tea. Fashion is clearly changing, and for those of you that have steered away from 'fashionable' items because they might be uncomfortable, now is your time to shine!

In wake of this, I thought it would be super helpful to talk about which comfortable, athleisure pieces to incorporate into your style, while still looking put together.  Comfort and trendiness can go hand-in-hand, especially because, chances are if it's comfortable, you're going to wear it more.

Stripes

Stripes will always be a classic print that just about everyone can pull off in one way or another, and athleisure styles are no exception.  Think racing stripes or nautical themes, stripes are very common in traditional athletic wear, so why not incorporate the flattering print into your everyday wear?

Track Pants

The rise of track pants is a fairly new one this season, but one we can all enjoy.  It's like wearing your pajamas out, but still looking fabulous! *hair flip* Paying homage to the 90s with this trend! Lose your constricting skinny jeans or pencil skirt for a day and try out some sporty track pants for a change. I found this gorgeous pair at Zara, of course, but their showing up in nearly every trendy shop these days.

Sporty Hairstyles

Sporting a ponytail or sleek bun is another way to add a little athleisure into your life, and let's be honest, there is nothing greater than when your hair is up and off of your face for a day! With your hair up, out of sight and out of mind, you can get back to being a total girl boss.  Lately, I've been going for a sleek, low bun which makes me feel like a cross between a boss lady and an America's Next Top Model contestant lol. (I've been watching too much ANTM lately...)

White Tennis Shoes

It's not about the 7" stilettos (legendary for destroying any feet who adorn them) anymore, people. The white tennis shoe trend is still very much around, and that's because white shoes instantly give off a polished, almost sophisticated vibe, even if it's an athletic shoe.  Of course, their comfort factor is the other thing propelling them forward.  If you don't own a pair of white tennis shoes yet, whether they be Adidas, Nike or otherwise, what are you waiting for?
