Winter Whites: How to Style White During Winter

Happy Sunday friends,

I hope you’re well and all having a lovely weekend. I’ve had a much needed chilled one, catching up with friends and fam, eating as always, and doing a bit of baking. Finally tried Arôme bakery yesterday near Covent Garden, which I can definitely recommend. The pastries and honey toast were delish! I also picked up a coconut hot choc and walked around a very festive looking London. Has the Christmas decorating begun where you are yet? Now all we need is a bit of snow!

Speaking of snow, with this all white leather look from Ted Baker (gifted) I wanted to share why I think wearing white is definitely recommended this season. Have you ever felt a bit intimidated about styling this crisp shade in the cooler months? Below are my tips for looking perfect and wintery in white.

Think about Texture

Shearling, knits, and leather are all textures you should already be wearing this season, but make it white and you might just look even that much more chic. Keeping texture in mind will help you pick the right pieces when it comes to winter whites.

Go All Out

If you’re going to wear white in winter, why not go all out? For this look, I decided to put this to the test and I have to admit, I’m loving this clean and crisp white look. Don’t let matching the shades of white/cream intimidate you either. The shades don’t have to be exact to look good. For example, my boots here are more white while the rest of my look is cream, but it still works.

Pair with other Neutrals

The trick for making white look less summery and more chic is also about the colours you pair with it. I recommend trading your bright summery shades for neutrals with a winter outfit. Try beige or camel for ultimate cozy vibes.

Getting the boot

If you’re not confident enough to rock head-to-toe white, it’s not for the faint of heart especially if you’re prone to spilling things, I recommend adding a pair of white boots to your wardrobe. I personally have owned at least three pairs of white boots and I can’t get enough. They seem to go with every outfit perfectly. White boots add a touch of interest to nearly every look and draw a bit more attention to your feet than your typical black boots. Plus, unlike white jumpers and other items, you can wipe them clean.
