Spring Style, Supporting Small Brands, & the Little Things

Hi fellow quarantine kids,

Hope you’re all doing alright. I’m having a bit of a down/un-motivated day today, I must admit, which I’m sure we’re all having a little bit more frequently at the moment. (I can’t wait to look back at blog posts like this and feel grateful that we made it through this hard time.) Hope you all had a lovely (indoor) Easter last weekend. I took a little blogging break so I could enjoy the holiday as normally as possible, but back at it this week.

For today’s blog post, I just wanted to talk about things that have been giving me a little bit of joy here and there during lockdown. Maybe they might spark a little joy for you too, and hopefully documenting them will remind me to be more upbeat and grateful.

Spring Blooms

While on my daily walks/runs, I’ve gotten a chance to truly appreciate the outdoors more than ever before. I feel like now, I notice every bloom, every bird, and even which way the wind is blowing that day. These outdoor spells have become my favorite part of the day, (which is not normally the way I’d describe running lol). I’d definitely recommend getting out when possible and safe. There’s spring signs to appreciate everywhere if you just look.

Small Brands

I feel like this time has been inspiring me to discover more amazing small brands, like Dot & X, (who kindly gifted me this gorg dress). I think it’s more important now than ever to show our support for these smaller brands, who are probably struggling financially. If you’re online shopping in your spare time, try to buy from the little guys as much as possible. You can also show your support by sharing their content on social media, creating content using their products, or treating your friend or family member to a gift card.

Sunshine

While I am finding it hard to be cooped up while this glorious sun is shining, I still think the rays beaming through the window are infinitely up-lifting. I find that reading or working by the window makes me feel so much more motivated and happier. Sometimes I feel like a cat all curled up reading in sunlight.

Nail Art

Since no nail salons are open, and I have a little more spare time on my hands, I’ve been attempting a few new nail painting experiments. Having my nails adorned in cute colourful combinations has been giving me a little joy every time I look down (even if they chip after about two days…). I’ll have to share soon. Maybe I’ll write a blog post on it since I have more than enough time to do so.

What little things have been bringing you joy during lockdown? Comment them down below. Be sure to check out Dot & X and if you have any small brands I need to check out, comment them down below too. Check out my lovely photographer friend, Zoe, who took these springy pictures too. She’s amazing. Shop my outfit below if you’re interested. Thank you so much for reading and supporting my blog. Be sure to check back next week for a new post.
