Winter Skin Survival Tips

Good morning friends,

I hope you're all doing well and enjoying a bit of cool weather for a change! Personally winter is my favorite time of the year.  I love the holidays, cozy nights in with fuzzy blankets and hot cocoa, and of course SNOW, but the one thing I don't enjoy is dry skin, which is a nearly unavoidable winter symptom.

So I've compiled a few little tips and products for keeping your skin glowing and healthy even on the chilliest of days.

Tip #1: Moisturize Moisturize Moisturize

This one is fairly obvious, but of course moisturizing is the best way to keep your skin healthy. For the winter months, your normal moisturizer might not be doing the trick so I like to use a stronger moisturizer and or a moisturizing oil, like the Gaffer & Child Hydrating Serum.  This oil penetrates the skin a lot easier and deeper to keep your skin moisturized all day.  Also I use moisturizer both in the morning and at night because it can be prone to drying even if you're not going outside.

Tip #2: Exfoliate

This one may not be as obvious, but exfoliation is also important this time of year.  Drying skin means dying skin cells.  These dead skin cells can clog pores and make skin appear dull so it is important to exfoliate once or twice a week to keep skin look clean and bright! I recommend using a gentle exfoliate like this Gaffer & Child Face Scrub and gently move it around your face in circular motions.  It is important not to rub too hard or you can cut and irritate your skin.

Tip #3: Use a Moisturizing Cleanser

Cleansing is of course essential all times of the year, but is can be one of the most drying things for your face especially in the winter.  I try to use a cleanser that is gentle and moisturizing so it won't strip my skin of its natural oils.  This Gaffer & Child Cleanser is perfect for this.

I hope these tips were helpful and interesting.  Let me know what you think about this type of beauty post in the comments below! I love finding great skin products to share with you guys so I'd love to know what you think. As always, thanks for reading along and subscribe below if you'd like to see more! Happy Holidays!
