My 23rd Birthday & 10 Things About Me

I hope you're having a great start to the week.  Today is my 23rd birthday and I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by! Twenty three years kind of sounds like a long time, doesn't it? For this post, I decided to wait until my actual birthday because I want to share with you 10 things you might not already know about me!  It's kind of like a 'get to know me' post and I'd also love if you'd leave a comment telling me something I might not know about yourself!

Dear Georgie: A Note to My Younger Self

As inspired by a blog post written by my all-time-favorite blogger, Megan Ellaby, I wanted to reflect and send a note to my younger self. Hopefully this might help some of the younger people reading my blog dealing with messy issues associated with growing up, like finding yourself, learning to love yourself, and blocking those haterz haha. Your teens and even early twenties are a time of change, turmoil, and a little chaos, so here's my letter to my younger self.

How to Rock Cowboy Couture

Good morning and happy Easter to those that celebrate! (I hope you're all eating extra chocolate today!) Inspired by my recent discovery of the show Westworld (I know I'm late, but if you have not seen it and like futuristic shows, seriously get on it!), I decided to dedicate a post to the western-inspired trends that have been gracing the fashion world as of late.

Although Western trends were showing up on runways starting last winter, they were absolutely ruling the AW18 runways all over the world, including fashion houses I really admire like House of Holland, Calvin Klein, and Topshop. Cowboy couture is a fairly easy trend to try out and you probably already have some of these trends in your wardrobe! Here's how you can conquer fashion's new frontier.

Why Comfort is Key

There is a common misconception that fashion has to be uncomfortable, but today I'm here to bust that myth.  Now, more than ever, comfort is becoming key.  Along with the rise of athleisure (activewear made fashion-forward), comfort is driving a lot on and off the runways as of late.  Louis Vuitton just brought out a pair of tennis shoes for goodness sake!...albeit not everyone's cup of tea. Fashion is clearly changing, and for those of you that have steered away from 'fashionable' items because they might be uncomfortable, now is your time to shine!

In wake of this, I thought it would be super helpful to talk about which comfortable, athleisure pieces to incorporate into your style, while still looking put together.  Comfort and trendiness can go hand-in-hand, especially because, chancing are if it's comfortable, you're going to wear it more.

How has your weekend been this week? A lot of people are on spring break this week or next, so comment down below if you went or are going anywhere cool! Spring break means it's officially spring right?..even if it might snow this week lol.

How to Upcycle Your Holiday Dresses

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend and have survived this colder than expected March weather, especially if you were hit by the, so called, Beast from the East!  Luckily, we made it out here with only a couple smaller flurries and a drop in temperature.  Our trees are still blooming, as you can see! Today, I thought it would be a great idea to talk about you can re-style and recycle your New Year's Eve, Christmas, and other party dresses to make them more casual and spring appropriate!  Wearing dresses in a casual way is one of my favorite outfits.

Philadelphia's Hidden Gems

I'm back! Sorry I missed last week's post, but I was visiting my beloved bestie, Joud, in Philadelphia and I really wanted to focus on fully experiencing it! So, in lieu of that, I thought I would dedicate this blog post to some of the amazing food, fun, and photogenic locations my gorgeous tour guide, Joud, took me to. (She honestly curated the best trip ever.)

Learn to Love Yourself

This Valentine's Day, I've been thinking about how important it is to love yourself.  Yes, we all have our little flaws, but loving yourself first is an essential part to being a healthy and overall happy individual, in my opinion.  On this day when we're so busy showing everyone else how much we love them, don't forget to show yourself a little love.

Girls Supporting Girls

It's finally February! We made it through one of the longest months of the year. Congrats! This week, in light of recent women's marches that went on throughout the world a couple weeks ago, I thought I would talk about how we can better support the community of women in our lives.  Whether that be the women in your workplace, an online community of women you've never met, or just your closest confidants and best of friends, we should all have each others' backs!  You might not have made it to a women's march near you, but here's how you can support women on a smaller, but still important, scale.
